Section 1.6 commences

!!! Thank you everybody for all your comments to the last update--they were very encouraging! I'll be sure to try my best to meet your expectations. X3 Anyway, here's the title page to Section 1.6 as promised. Some of you might be familiar with this girl, hmm?

Actual pages for Section 1.6 will come on Sunday! :D

Just to let you know, the title page is incorretly linked. Instead of Section 1.6 (which has a very stunning background), it's linked to 1.5.

It's Mei it's MEI!!! Hooray for Mei, she's finally in the story :D Hooray for Hans!!!

That's a pretty little picture of Mei there, the backgrounds beautiful, the skirt looks a little too chunky and unrealistic though. Chong Sams normally don't have long flowy skirts so you could draw it straight-down figure-hugging, Mei'd look incredibly sexy ;)

Anyone else curious to know what Mei's holding in her hand?

^^ YAY! We finally get some MEI!
Gorgeous ^^ YAY! We finally get some MEI!

I believe that's a map... (if you look in the Slimu Gallery, its titled, 'Lost in Town'.)

Yay for Mei! I want a dress like that! It's so pretty! I wonder what's in her hand?

Posted by: Sasami | Mar 23, 2006 3:57 AM

My first post came out a little weird ^^; xP...after 'gorgeous' there was supposed to be a comma and then a comment about how her skirt does look a little weird-how it crunkles up to the right?

it's so beautiful!!! I like how it's chinese style, but then it's all flowy and puffy at the bottom. O_o Hahaha, I'm so bad trying to describ things! This one takes the cake as my favorite section cover!!

Sasami, she's holding it up in her left hand so that she can walk.

Anyway, I think it's just lovely. I love the sunset scheme and the mixing of cultures in the dress.

OMG Mei-chan!! She finally has arrived ^_^ Woo-hoo can't wait until Sunday now

It's Mei! I missed her!

Posted by: Acey | Mar 23, 2006 12:56 PM

Yep, I knew that Lara. Thanks for trying to help though. ^_^ I meant the piece of paper, but I guess everyone else has figured out that it's a map.

Waaaaaah!!! That's such a pretty picture of Mei! You really are a superb artist! I like the style of the dress. Contrary to what the others say, I like the fact that it isn't the traditional form-fitting Chinese style clothing and that it incorporates the long flowing dresses of the western style so that it matches the other characters from the previous covers. But I still like the fact that the top part is Chinese-y ^_^ Very pretty...Will Mei finally make her appearance in this section?

Now, we're only missing Auden and Chrystelle covers, but according to the archive, there's only one more section left to the first volume? I wonder who you will draw? You could draw them both ^^ that would be nice and romantic ^_^

By the way, I'm just asking, but have you decided what kind of cover illustration scheme you're going to use in volume 2? I'm just curious since I really like these covers with fancy gowns and suits ^^ since they never dress up like this in the story...

well, keep up the good work, Hans! I can't wait to read the new pages!

Oh it's so pretty!!! XD I love Mei's dress and the sky is beautiful too.

Yay! Mei's here! ^_^

Nicely done, Hans. I like the whole setting sun scene, as it matches with Mei's dress. It's pretty by the way! You managed to keep it Chinese-like but Western at the same time to match the other characters' clothes.

Keep it up Hans! I'm looking forward to Sunday! ^_^

Actually, the skirt on that dress gives it an interesting touch. I actually own two of those dresses, and they're very nice ^_^

YAY! Mei-chan's on the title page! That's uber l337, Hans. Is there going to be a title page for Ibkod too? ^_^

Mei is back <3! Very nicely done Hans, I love how you pulled off the traditional/modern deal on Mei's skirt~

Whoops, I wrote Sasami, but I meant Esther in that last post.

Anyway, can't wait for tomorrow's update! Every week I fall in love a little more with this manga.

Thought that the colours on the lower part looked clipart-ish..... but it's good though... keep up the good job

^^ Yay! new pages. The colors on the tittle page are beautiful. I am always in aww of how great Han's artwork is. It's so cleancut, the line art and inking are magnificant. It looks so professional!:D Anyway, just thought I should write that. Ya know, show my support as a loyal fan. ^_^ Keep up the good work!

Posted by: Karei | Mar 26, 2006 12:00 PM

Oh yes, and personally: I love the dress. ^^
So what if it doesn't look like a traditional chong sam, whats wrong with creating your own version, mixing and matching?
Creative liscence yo. ^_^
I Love it!

Hans, I've never seen you use this coloring style before! I absolutely love the sunset-esque gradient on Mei's dress. Props, man--mad props.
