June 22, 2006 Section 1.7 continues
So like. Tuesday morning, after staying up the entire night working. I finally did it.
I FINISHED THE BOOK!
Wooo!!
Y-yes, I know, it's kind of late. I kept pushing the deadline! It was supposed to originally be in to the printer on the 5th. But then I told them I'd have it in a week later and just pay extra for faster shipping. And then it got complicated. And then I hated myself really hard. But it's done! And life is PERFECT. And I got to sleep!
Furthermore, I got to draw new vote incentives for the week! Gasp.
So, like, Rachel, AKA Silla, is pretty much the sexiest person alive. No joke. She happens to live in the same city that the printer's located, and has helped me tremen~dously with getting my pages to them and fetching the proof they printed, and basically being Super Great in general. ...Although. I can't help but reminisce of a time, probably three months ago, when I was fooling around and being lame or something, and she said something to the effect of, "Ha ha ha. You're going to die the week before your pages are due." And I was like, "Aheheh, yeaaaaah." But really, I had thought to myself, "Pshaw, no way man, I'll get the pages done, and they'll even be EARLY! So whateever." ...Of course we now know how that story turned out. And then this past week she had made three trips to the printer in addition to all the proof-reading and corrections I had her help me with. Furthermore, I had to resort to calling her (by phone! WTF!) Tuesday and waking her up (OHSHI--) to do one last favor for me in regards to my incompetency and stupidity. Basically, I-. I think I may have upset her a little.
Ahh the point of THAT story is that, uh, Libelle is loosely based off of Rachel, and ummmm. Here's this week's TWC incentive! ILY BABY.
AND on Tuesday I saw Tina (who originally conceptualised Mei Yu Huang!) and we played frisbee with her boyfriend and here's this week Buzzcomix incentive yay!
...Now, an announcement! Niko (of Fantasy Realms and I had always wanted to have some sort of community of webcomic artists--WirePop didn't really turn out so great for us in that regards, so we both felt some sort of lack of webcomic artist love. :( So about two weeks ago, I had an idea! And I IMed Niko about it, and ah, long story short~
Mechanical Penguin. It is a LiveJournal community and Art Blog. Myself and Niko, along with other fantabulous, fantasy webcomic artists such as Sarah Ellerton of Inverloch, Jamie Jennings of Emerald Winter, Keiiii of Haru-Sari, Shilin of Blackbird, and Andrea L. Peterson of No Rest for the Wicked--TAKES A BREATH!!--will be collectively posting here our sketches, doodles, conceptual designs, completed illustrations, etc. etc., and UNNGHGGH I'M FREAKING EXCITED AND SO SHOULD YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ohcrap I had a convulsion excuse me.
And I just posted a picture related to Directions of Destiny, in case you were curious about something relevant to your interests.
Aahhh so yeah. Finished book means I've got time now! Time to do stuff like finish old commissions, send out those prints everybody ordered, work on illustrations for Anime Expo, fix up and update this site, revamp my personal site, get the Alatus Institute website started, etc. etc. OH MAN YOU GUYS I LOVE LIFE :D!!!
Oh yeah. Pre-ordering will change to regular ordering starting 0:00, June 23rd, Friday. Last day to pre-order the book for bonus sketch and autograph, guys~ :> Regular ordering of the book begins!
