April 24, 2008 New Site Layout!

So, first page of Section 2.1 is finished and ready and up! As you can see, I'm starting off small with just one page this week (as opposed to three or four pages back when I last did my regular updates), but at least I'm starting, amirite?? ...rite??? :Da

Furthermore, if you'll notice the front page, it looks like I did a bit of spring cleaning with a new layout! The first time in how many years...?? As of this writing I haven't carrried the new layout over to the rest of the site just yet, but I'm hoping to do that as the week progresses so that by the time next Thursday rolls around, everything will be uniform again.

I designed the new layout to fit with wider screen resolutions now that I'm pretty sure nobody's using 640 x 480 anymore, and also to make things less cluttered and confusing. It's still got the same general look and feel as the old though to maintain a bit of familiarity, but once I get the other sections updated, the site's organization should be much fresher!

Also, the internal workings of the site will also be completely different (for one thing, it's all in CSS instead of old-school tables >3<b), and basically it'll be a loooot easier for me to update the site now. Where before it would take me between half an hour to an hour to get everything ready for the site after I finish the page, now it's just a matter of preparing the thumbnails and writing this blurb.

Let me know what you think of the new layout in the comments! :D And also remember that I'm still updating the vote incentives eeevery single day, Monday through Friday!!

I started reading this comic...so long ago, I don't even know...

But I've checked back every day since I finished, and I'm glad to see you're starting up again!

It's so exciting in my pants right now. I love your first pages... and that vote incentive way too much. hahaha. Libelle and Xin incentives were super hot the other days too... oh man... Studying for econ has never been so enjoyable before. hahahahaha, yes, back to studying...

I still can't get over how BIG that tree is. How long does it take a tree to get that big? I love the Ryan incentive seeing as I have an obsession for mini things and oversized things. Douglass...will give me nightmares.

The only thing I don't like about the new layout is that it's all done with background colors and most of the links are invisible to any of your visitors who force colors or styles. It looks very good with your original code, but with forced colors every link but the ones in the update box (which have real borders rather than ones from an image) are invisible.

On the other hand, you probably don't receive many visitors who force colors. ;)

I've been waiting for you to start again, and am so happy that you have. I'm really looking foward to it.
I missed some of the first incentive sketches, will you do a scrapbook of them like you did the others?
I love the douglas incentive. Puts a whole new spin on the idea.

I think the layout is very nice. CSS is a very good system to use. I heard that PHP is a html code that is kind of like CSS. It uses one page for a total page update... But I'm not too keen on the details.. :/

To the new layout... I can't say anything, because I can only compare things that are right beneath each other, but nothing out of my memory (which is quite bad...)

And, as some people already said, you ARE updating, that's what counts.

The incentive of Mei's friend who's name I've forgotten is incredible. It's so simple but the subtle shading on her face really gives her depth and life and I don't know what it is about her hair but I like that too. IBKOD of course would leave nuts and bolts in his litter box. That was very cute.
